A study was conducted on the coexistence and mutual restriction relationship between mankind and nature in ancient China and on the thinking and model of the sustainable development evolving from it. Analysis is carried out on its effect on the economy, society, resources and enviromental protection of the time, which lays a foundation for the current sustainable development thinking.
