On the Function Orientation and Essential Characters of Theories in the Course of the Reform

理论在改革进程中要严格定位在以理论的方式服务于实践 ,发挥其探索、批判的功能 ,减少实践的盲目性和改革的风险性 ,坚持和保持理论的独立性、系统性、彻底性的基本品质 ,不断伴随着实践的发展而发展 ,理论的生命力就在于具有与时俱进的理论品质。这样 ,理论才能最大限度发挥出理论的效用 。

In the course of reform, theories should be strictly orientated towards their service to practice and their functions of exploration and criticism should be fulfilled so as to reduce the blindness and risks of practice; people should insist on the independence, systematicness and thoroughness of theories-the three essential characters. Theoretical development should keep up with that of practice. Theories' vitality just lies in the synchronization with the times. Therefore, theories' effectiveness can be brought into full play so as to avoid the theoretical offside or disorientation.
