The Comparison on the Architectures of Digital Libraries

介绍了国内外6种典型的DL体系结构和系统,包括:Interspace、InfoBus、UMDL、NCSTRL、基于OAI的NDLTD和国内的CALIS,比较了它们各个方面的特点。特别分析了各种体系结构在互操作方面的特性。总结了互操作的4种基本类型:集成、联邦、收集和采集。最后,以CALIS为代表,分析了国内DL在体系结构方面的不足之处。

This paper introduces six typical digital library systems and their infrastructures including Interspace,InfoBus,UMDL,NCSTRL,OAI based NDLTD and CALIS.It compares the characteristics of these systems in many aspects and especially analysesthe systems' interoperability,which is fundamental for the universal retrieval across distributed and heterogeneous repositories.Finally,the paper discusses the disadvantages of digital Library systems in China such as the CALIS.
