本文辑录了新疆历史上不同时代的民族语地名120个，分成4类——自然地理地名、北疆东疆地名、南疆地名、文物遗址地名，并指出每个地名的语源和含义。
The article, containing 4 categories: places named on the basis of natural geography, the places named in accordance with the north, south, and east positions of Xinjiang, the places named with regards cultural relics, compiles 120 national language names of places in different historic times in Xinjiang and points out the origin as well as the meaning of the name of every place.
