“入世”后我国的高等教育面临更为激烈的竞争。变更为本科院校后的东莞理工学院,如何办出特色、办出品牌,是摆在全院师生面前的重大课题。本文通篇贯穿了“创新”的理念,提出了“走创新之路———建设名牌地方本科院校”的办学思路,并明确地确立了东莞理工学院未来定位、发展目标,以及对实现这一目标的方法步骤进行了探讨。

After entering WTO,the higher education of our country as a whole was conf ronted with a more competitive situation.Donggu an University of Technology upgraded to a regular university,how to de-velop its distinctiveness and make i t a prestigious university will be a s ignificant task falling on all its staff and students.This paper with the conception of'innovationrunning through it,presents the new idea of'marching on the road of innovation to build up a pr estigious university with local characteristics',clearly pointing out the future position of Dongguan Univers ity of Technology,its goal of develo pment and the way to carry it out.
