Labor Theory of Value and Distribution of Income

劳动价值论不是收入分配的理论依据 ,收入分配的理论依据是生产资料所有权或产权理论。我们既不能依据劳动价值来说明社会主义“按劳分配与按生产要素分配”的结合 ;也不能因此而否定劳动价值论的现实意义 ;或用西方要素价值论取而代之。劳动价值论需要发展 ,但发展的必要性不是来自于“按生产要素”分配 ,而是来自于变化了的社会经济现实对劳动价值论的挑战 ;劳动价值论需进一步丰富、完善 ,使之更适合现代社会经济的分析。

The theoretical basis for distribution of income is not the labor theory of value, but the theory of means of production or property rights. We cannot justify the combination of the socialist 'distribution on the basis of labor and distribution on the basis of means of production'; nor can we therefore refute the realistic significance of the labor theory of value or replace it with the Western factor theory of value. The labor theory of value needs developing, though not because of distribution 'on the basis of factors of production', but because of the challenges to it brought by the changed social and economic realities; it needs further enriching and perfecting to better adapt to modern social and economic analysis.
