An automatic, convenient measuring system for the axial mechanical characteristic of the optical disks is desirable for the optical system designers and optical disks providers. This paper introduced a novel measusing system based on the computer platform. The principle of the measuring system is the well-known laser triangulation method. Main block diagrams and flowing charts are shown in the paper. Measuring results and analysis are included also.
