A New Method for Detecting and Locating Captions in Video Images

一般的描述数字图像的直方图不能反映图像中的局部特征和对象属性.本文提出一种新的灰度直方图, 其特点是具有描述图像局部特征能力.文章给出了它的定义, 并对其中的特别区域及其与图像中字幕的映射关系作了分析。在此基础上, 我们进一步研究了这种直方图在字幕检测与定位中的应用, 并为此目的提出了一种算法。计算实验结果表明, 该算法快速有效。

The usual color histogram of a digital image can not describe the local features and object attributes of the image. The paper presents a kind of new color histogram, which has the ability of describing local features. The definition of it is given, and the mapping relation is analyzed between its trait areas and image captions. Then, the application of the new color histogram is discussed, and an algorithm is proposed for rapidly detecting and locating captions in an image. In the end, computing experimental results are given and the validity of the algorithm is shown.
