The First Shunde Household Electrical Appliance Fair held in 2001 attracted about 284 exhibitors and 80, 000 visitors from all over the world,gaining a business volume of RMB1.95 billion. This year saw about 320 enterprises participating in the fair, 10 percent more than last year. A total of 60 of these businesses came from well-known electrical appliance cities in the Pearl River Delta like Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Dongguan and Huizhou, or in the Yangtze River Delta like Ningpo, Wuxi and Shanghai, and foreign enterprises from Qingdao and the Beijing-Tianjin area. Fewer local enterprises from Shunde participated in this year's fair. With greater international renown, this fair is the Shunde Municipal Government's showpiece effort to establish a local brand name of an electrical appliance production base.
