This paper discusses how the development of the information technology affects the library design,and also,it promotes revolutionary changes of service modes;furthermore,this paper describes the developments of the digital library and its influence on the composition and distribution in the architectural space of library;consequently,it raises out the 'open design' mode for the library design,which will accommodate the new request better of the developing society.
