山西经济发展落后于全国平均水平。究其原因 ,2 0世纪 80年代经济发展战略选择失误以及导致的产业结构不合理是根本性原因。 90年代以来 ,山西发展战略做了一些必要的调整 ,取得了一些成绩。随着新世纪的到来 ,发展战略的正确选择 ,成了山西经济能否实现跨越式发展 ,达到和超过全国中等水平的关键。

The economic development of Shanxi lags behind the average level of the whole China.During the 1980s the wrong strategy choice of economic development led to the unreasonable industrial struture which is the essential cause.Since 1990s Shanxi strategy of development has made some necessary adjustment and made some achievements.With the coming of the new century,the correct choice of development strategy has become the key whether Shanxi can realize leaping development,reach and surpass the middle level of the whole country or not.
