The co-existence of traditional library,digital library and virtual library are the basic patterns of the university library in the 21 st century.There are a lot of basic characteristics shared by the university libraries,including the variety of the data carriers,the cooperation among the libraries,the sharing of the documents,the flexible and various ways for the readers to use them,the wide implication of network in service,the increasing number of readers and the explicit intellectual function.There are also several important guarantees for the manipulating of the libraries,such as to promote the quality of the librarians,to renovate the means of service.
