The study of Sanqu in the 20th century

散曲 ,一种被历史遗忘了的诗体和学问 ,在“五四”白话诗文运动的召唤下突然苏醒 ,经过近百年的发展 ,至世纪末已蔚为一门与诗词和戏曲相平行的独立学科。描写散曲学几起几落的盛衰消长印迹 ,记录那些曾在这一倍受冷落的边缘地带辛苦耕耘的学者 ,采集品味他们所取得的丰硕成果 ,反思本学科的局限与不足 ,预测未来的发展走向 ,为新世纪有志修习此道者提供一个坚实的作业平台 ,已是世纪之交刻不容缓的学术期待。

Sanqu (type of opera popular in the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties with tonal patterns modelled on tunes drawn from folk music),which had been forgotten by history as a type of poetry and scholarly study,was wakened up during Vernacular Movement(1917 1919).By the end of last century the study of Sanqu had become a discipline in its own right.In the new century,the further study of its value,the summery of the achievements gained in the study of Sanqu ,and the prediction of its further development are expected with anxiety.
