On Literary Style

文学风格对于文学创作至关重要。随着文学创作实践经验的不断总结,中国和西方在风格理论方面积累了相当丰富的经验。文学风格的形成固然同时代、民族、阶级等客观因素密切相关,但更主要地、更直接地来自作家的主观因素即创作个性。其具体表现在文学作品的内容和形式两个方面。创作个性的丰富性和客观世界的丰富性又共同构成文学风格的多样性。

Style is crucial in literary creation. With the continuous summarizing of literary practice, rich experiences in stylistic theory have been accumulated both in China and in the West. While one's style may be closely related to objective factors such as time, nation and class, it is more likely and directly originated from the subjective aspect, that is, his personality. This can be seen from the content and the form of the literary works. The richness of the individual character and the objective world jointly forms the diversity of literary styles.
