中国是一个农业大国,长期以土地为主要关系的生产方式,形成了中国农民特有的较为复杂、稳固的性格心理、思维方式、风俗民情,描写、反映农民命运,剖析、观照“农民意识”成为了中国现当代历史上一种鲜明而独特的文学现象和文化观象。而鲁迅、赵树理、高晓声则是最有成就的代表性作家。三位作家塑造的一系列农民形象,恰好构成了民主革命以来近百年中国农民命运的发展史和灵魂演进史。

China is a big agricultural country. The Asian mode of production, which is based on the land relation over a long period of time, has formed a sophisticated stability in character psychology, thinking pattern and traditions and customs. Describing, reflecting the fate of the peasants, analyzing and studying 'peasant consciousness' has become a distinct and special literary and cultural phenomenon in modern and contemporary history of China. Lu Xun, Zhao Shuli and Gao Xiaosheng are the most successful writers. They created a series of peasant characters that reflect the development of the fate of Chinese peasants and their spirit evolution history during the past 100 years of democratic revolution.
