李龙云是新时期剧坛上一位立足于现实主义而又不断创新追求的剧作家。他的三部话剧代表作留下了他在现实主义道路上探索前进的坚实的足印。《洒满月光的荒原》较之前两部剧更有着突破性的创新。剧作倾力探索人生、展示人性、表现人情,将现实主义提升到生命意识的层面;而对人的存在意义的特别关注,则达到对中国社会特定历史时段的形而上的概括,获得对中华民族历史乃至人类社会历史整体、深刻的把握;对人物内心独白创造性地描写,独特的音画交响的有机插入,营构出诗的意境和独特的舞台艺术形象,将人物心灵历程诉诸观众(读者)的听觉与视觉,加上极富抒情意味的诗的语言,赋予剧作浓郁的诗剧品格。

LI Longyun is a dramatist based on realism and constantly brings forth new ideas in the new period. In his three representative drama works there are footmarks left by his probing into and going forward in realist road.'The wasteland' show a marked increase over earlier two dramas. In this works there is probing into life and normal human feelings,especially the life consciousness and the significance of existence,which is full of philosophical theory. The drama is rich in poetic flavor as to reveal characters' inner world by creative description in their soliloquy and mingling sound with picture.'The Wasteland' is full of style of poetic drama.
