An Analysis of the Opinion on the"Failure"of the New Life Movement

长期以来,学界对于新生活运动的评价有一个基本观点,即认为历时15年之久的新生活运动其结果“收效甚微”,是一场“骗局”,“不得人心”,“根本行不通”。本文对此提出不同看法,主张对新生活运动须作分阶段的具体、细致分析。

Since a long time ago,there has been a n overwhelming opinion concerning t he New Life Movement in the academic moveme nt that this movement ,which lasted f or 15years,'produced very little effect','was nothing but a swindle','failed to enjoy popular support',was not all practical,etc.The present paper pu ts forward a different opinion,advocating a concrete and detailed period -by -period analysis of this movement.
