ON EMINENT PERSONS IN WEI AND JIN PERIODS

魏晋名士是成份复杂、历来颇遭非议的一群人。他们实际上是一群忧谗畏讥的忧患之士,在他们潇洒不群、异于常人的言行后面,是对黑暗现实的无奈和消极对抗。历史注定他们在身心上要承受那个时代的巨大苦痛。

Crankiness in their manners and speech, some eminent persons from different walks of life in Wei and Jin Periods are always criticized in history. They are , in fact, a group of people worrying about the affairs of the states and the life of the people. They are different from other people in their behaviors and speech which are strange enough to be understood. What they do and say is , as a matter of fact, to avoid the realism in that age, and a way for them to fight against the social feality as well. They are doomed to suffer much.
