公安海警学院英语课程内容改革初探

Suggestions on Reform of English Curriculum Contents for China Maritime Police Academy

按照公安海警学院的人才培养目标,学院英语课程内容设置存在着诸如与中学英语重复较多、过分以课本为中心、与专业知识结合不够等方面的问题,导致学生所学与所用脱节,学生毕业后在涉外执勤执法中欠缺用英语进行有效交流的能力。针对这些问题,本文提出了实施分层次教学、增加相关的文化背景知识课程以及在高年级开设专业英语课等五条改革建议。

According to the aims of talent training of China Maritime Police Academy, problems such as overlap with high school English, text-book orientation and isolation from majors exist in its English curriculum. Consequently, graduates fail to put what they have learned into practice and their communications in English in service is invalid. Accordingly, this thesis discusses reform suggestions such as teaching in mixed-level classes, offering courses of related culture background and offering professional English courses for senior students.
