Beijing Gehua needs to develop a video-on-demand application support system based on CATV networks in order to meet the new requirements of VOD development. This paper describes design and implementation of the system in detail. The development of the system adopts loosely-coupled modular method to ensure system reliability, ei ciency and scalability. The implementation of video-on-demand applications support system has completely changed the original design and development model of video-on-demand applications. The system has achieved the desired result in the practical application, and injected new vitality into the new business development.
