Implementation of Clinical Pathway for Assuring Quality of Health Care and Lowering Medical Expenses

北京协和医院于2001年在实施临床路径,保证医疗质量,控制医疗成本方面做了有益的尝试,首批入选胆囊切除术、肺炎、充血性心衰、阴道分娩等四种疾病诊断进入临床路径,实施第一阶段的经验表明,参与实施临床路径的疾病诊断住院天数降低了24.68％～31.96％,平均住院费用降低了16.59％～58.31％,进入路径的患者未发生一例投诉。此外,临床药物治疗进入临床路径具有诸多优点,它可以规范医师的用药行为,是降低药物副作用的有效保证。

An experiment of clinical pathway has been taken in PUMC Hospital this year. Cholecystecto-my, pneumonia, congestive heart failure and vaginal delivery are the diseases included in the first test. The experience in the first phase shows that the dates of stay in the hospital reduced around 24.68 % to 31.96 % , and that the cost of hospitalization decreased around 16.56% to 58.31% . No complains from the patients happened in the test. Clinical pharmacy in the test shows many of its advantages including standardizing the physicians' behaviors in prescription so as to reduce the side effects of the drugs.
