Taking Xiaofosi tunnel project as an example, based on the principles should be followed in the design of highway tunnels, this paper mainly discusses the contents of tunnel survey, tunnel route selection and tunnel vertical section design in the design of Xiaofosi tunnel,and studies in detail the construction technology of highway tunnels, including tunnel tunneling, geological prediction, middle line and elevation control, etc.
