Youth subculture, which is closely integrated with the new media, has had a profound impact on the growth environment, thinking mode and lifestyle of young people. It has brought about opportunities and challenges for ideological and political education in universities and affected the generation of young students′ sense of gain. University ideological and political educators should base their work on students′ needs and expectations, and a correct understanding of youth subculture, so as to lead youth subculture towards a healthy development and improve the sense of gain of young students in university ideological and political education through communication and dialogues.
