《女勇士》汉译本的翻译策略及其伦理选择

On Translators' Choice of Translation Ethics Embodied in the Translation Strategies: Take the Chinese Version of The Woman Warrior

翻译策略是译者翻译伦理选择的具体化,译文是无形的翻译策略和翻译伦理二者间有形的呈现。以美国华裔文学代表作之一《女勇士》中译本为例,从语言、风格、文化三个层面对汉译策略进行分析,并评价其背后的伦理抉择。研究结果表明,译者在翻译伦理指导下有意识的"不忠实"行为是翻译伦理与翻译实践的艰难糅合;译文体现出各个翻译伦理模式直接内部并非彼此独立,而是互相关联;不同时期译者的翻译伦理抉择受制于时代背景,对美国华裔文学的翻译批评应避免割离时代背景。

Translation strategies,in fact,are the externalization of the translators' choices of translation ethics,while the target language is tangible presentation between the intangible translation strategies and translators' choices of translation ethics. This paper aims at studying the translators' choice of translation ethics in their translation of The Woman Warrior from the perspective of language,style and culture. The findings are as follows: the intentional disloyalty presented in the transition is the choice made by the translators under the guidance of translation ethics; the five models of translation ethics are correlated rather than separated from each other; the translation criticism of the Chinese American Literature should avoid being isolated from the historical background.
