Gaze,as a way of seeing,concerns itself with desires,identity,power,gender and race;trauma refers to the psychological harm to humans caused by disasters and atrocities. Traumatic events destruct traumatized people's adaptations to life. With the novel Look at Me written by American novelist Jennifer Egan,a Pulitzer prize winner,the subtle relationship between gaze and trauma is analyzed from the perspective of the three dimensions of gaze-self gaze,the gaze of self to the other,and the gaze of the other to self-and finally exposes there exists trauma in the guise of gaze.
