The result of seismic rupture model test of double culvature arch dam is presented. The vulnerable parts of the dam to earthquake loading and various factors that affect the earthquake-resistant behaviour of the dam, such as the openings existing in the dam body are discussed. The results show that there are good similarities of mechanics between the material and to concrete and this provides the reference basis for the engineering design.
