Leading a new type of globalization through the Belt and Road Initiative

面对近年来出现的"逆全球化"现象,中国坚持认为,全球化的趋势不会改变,而"一带一路"建设正是体现了中国对新型全球化的理念构想和政策应对。需要冷静、理性、辩证地看待"逆全球化",中国必将发挥重要引领作用,国际社会对中国的期待也在加强。未来一个时期,"一带一路"建设可结合"新型全球化"有序开展。

Since the financial crisis in 2008, globalization has entered a period of downturns. Facing anti-globalization in recent years, China insists that the generaltrend of globalization will not change, and the Belt and Road Initiative reflects a concept and policy response of China to a new type of globalization. As Andrew Elek, a scholar at the public policy research institute of the Australia National University, points out that it is becoming more difficult to impair the traditional trade barriers, and the Belt and Road Initiative focuses on bridging the gaps of infrastructures such as transport and telecommunication of different countries. By doing this, impediments of supply chain will be reduced. Cooperation in infrastructure and ability to construct is a "positive-sum game". The Belt and Road Initiative can push forward relevant countries to "promote the integration of world economy through a creative new method".
