清宫黄金用途广泛,主要有赏赐、礼制需要、礼佛及佩饰等,其所需数量巨大。为了满足需要,清宫开辟了诸多来源途径。其中,采购处于了最为重要的地位,这给采购地方带来沉重的经济压力。清宫对黄金需求数量的居高不下,且采购是来源的主要途径之一,这对当时的黄金市场产生了极为不利的影响。

Gold was a metal of great versatility for the Qing(1644-1911) court.Granting rewards, ritual ceremonies, religious worshipping, and crafting accessories all required its supply in great profusion. To meet the demand, the Qing imperial court tapped a wide variety of sources, among which procurement was the most important. The demand imposed enormous pressure on local economy. The Qing court’s unquenchable thirst for gold was a great detriment to the gold market.
