Opportunities of the Royal Family: Gustaf Ⅵ Adolf’s Collection of Chinese Artworks

瑞典国王古斯塔夫六世·阿道夫对中国艺术的浓厚兴趣终其一生。他曾于1926年访问中国,并以中国的宫廷皇室收藏为研究对象,获得了对中国艺术珍品的学习机会。国王古斯塔夫六世·阿道夫本人也和著名的中国艺术鉴赏家,如英国斐西瓦乐·大维德爵士和尤摩弗保罗斯关系紧密。在他逝世后根据其遗嘱,将其毕生大部分的收藏都赠予瑞典首都斯德歌尔摩的东亚博物馆。

Throughout his life, King Gustaf VI Adolf had a keen interest in Chinese art. In 1926, he visited China where he was given the opportunity to study objects from the previous Chinese imperial court’s collection. The King also had a close relationship with other connoisseurs of Chinese art, such as Sir Percival David and George Eumorfopoulos. In his will, he bequeathed a large part of his collection to the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities in Stockholm.
