文章重申了故宫学提出的依据在于对故宫价值的深刻认识,并从故宫的世界价值、故宫的完整保护和故宫的学术建设三个层次深入论述了故宫博物院发展历程中的曲折反复和经验教训。基于故宫博物院90余年的发展史、保护史和学术史,文章进一步指出,故宫学必须坚持进步的观念与创新的思维,把学理性与实践性相结合,树立开放多元的合作交流理念,担负起历史使命感的文化自觉,以探索中国特色的文化遗产保护道路。

The author stresses the full understanding of the Forbidden City’s values, as the foundation of the study of the Forbidden City, and elaborates on the history of the Palace Museum, in terms of the Forbidden City’s significance to the world, the integrity preservation of the Forbidden City, and the academic development of the Palace Museum. Looking into the past 90-odd years’ history, preservation and academic development of the Palace Museum, the author holds that the study of the Forbidden City shall always keep pace with the times and be enriched with new ideas. It’s an academic discipline of practical significance. Scholars in the field need an open mind for cultural exchange and cooperation and shall have a sense of mission, so as to explore a path of cultural heritage conservation with Chinese characteristics.
