Introduction and Assessment of Surviving Construction Manuals of the Qing Dynasty

广义的清代工程则例除了工部定期颁布的《钦定工程则例》外,还有关于工程、建筑类的各种文献,这部分文献内容庞杂,流布甚广,涵盖了大量未解读的信息,对它的研究将对今天的文物建筑修缮和保护大有裨益。本文梳理了清代则例的基本构成以及收藏、流传的大致线索,对其出版和现有研究状况进行作了总结,并进一步探讨了文献在文物修缮保护工作中的价值。

Apart from the Imperial Construction Manual(Qinding gongcheng zeli) issued regularly by the Ministry of Works(Gong bu), the Qing dynasty(164~1911) construction manual books, in a larger sense,also includes other forms of historical documents on construction and architecture. These documents are numerous, disordered, yet widely promulgated, covering considerable number of knowledge un-interpreted.The research on the unprocessed information is considered enormously instructive to today’s protection and preservation of heritage architecture as well as other forms of cultural relics. The essay examines Qing dynasty construction manuals and general clues for the collecting and transmission sequence of them, summarizes the publication and status quo, and analyzes the significant role they played in protecting and preserving cultural relics.
