Memory of the Visit to the USSR by the P.R.C.’s First Delegation of Museum Workers

1955年7月26日至9月13日,应苏联对外文化协会和俄罗斯联邦共和国文化部邀请,中央文化部组成中国首个博物馆工作者代表团赴苏访问。此次访问,旨在全面了解俄罗斯文博事业的方针、政策、组织领导、机构设置,以及不同类型博物馆的业务内容和管理方法等。作者以事件亲历者的视角,时隔六十余年后,有重点的回忆介绍代表团在列宁格勒和高尔基城的访问情况,以及记忆深刻的所见所闻,并简单归纳总结了此次访问的意义。即是20世纪50年代苏联的纪实资料,亦可作为博物馆事业的参考史料。

At the invitation of the USSR International Cultural Association and Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China sent China’s first delegation of museum workers for a visit to the USSR between July 26 and September 13,1955.The delegation hoped to have a thorough understanding of the guideline, policy, leadership and organizational setup of the USSR’s museums and cultural heritage institutions, and of operational and administrative details of various types of museums. The author was among the visiting delegation and over 60 years after the visit, recalled the delegation’s visit to Leningrad and Gorky, his personal experience and feelings, and the significance of the visit to the USSR. The information on the USSR of the 1950s is historical reference for museums.
