The Impact of the Evolution of Relations between Russia and Ukraine on the Eurasian Union

欧亚联盟是俄罗斯复兴战略的重大构想之一。在这一战略构想中,乌克兰是非常重要的组成部分。但乌克兰危机改变了这一局势,危机中暴露出来的各种矛盾也影响到欧亚联盟的稳定性。2015年年初,欧亚经济联盟正式宣布成立,两个月后,乌克兰宣布加入欧盟联系国协定,导致乌克兰与欧亚联盟的距离越来越远。从俄罗斯的战略选择来看,无论乌克兰是否加入,欧亚联盟都将向前推进。但由于俄乌关系的影响,这一战略在未来发展中必将面临诸多困难。

The Eurasian Union is one of the great visions of Russia's revival strategy. In this strategic vision,Ukraine is a very important component. But the Ukraine crisis has changed this situation,and various discrepancies exposed in the crisis affected the stability of the Eurasian Union as well. In early 2015,the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union was officially announced,and Ukraine announced to join the European Union Association Agreement two months later,leading Ukraine to move away from the Eurasian Union further. Seen from the perspective of Russia's strategic choices,the Eurasian Union will move forward,regardless of whether Ukraine joins.However,the strategy will face many difficulties in the future because of the impact of the relationship between Russia and Ukraine.
