The Australia- China Council and Australia's Public Diplomacy towards China

澳中理事会受澳大利亚外交外贸部领导,主要职能是促进中国的澳大利亚研究和中澳学术、文化交流。本文比较系统地梳理了澳大利亚的公共外交体系,分析了澳中理事会的外交活动,论述了澳中理事会的不足之处和发展前景,最后探讨了澳中理事会的外交活动对我国开展公共外交的借鉴意义。

Under the leadership of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade the Australia- China Council( ACC) is mainly responsible for promoting Australian studies in China as well as China- Australian academic and cultural exchanges. Thi paper systematically reviews Australian public diplomacy,analyzes the diplomatic ac tivities of ACC,discusses the shortcomings and development prospects for ACC,and explores what can be learned from the diplomatic activities of ACC for China to carr out its public diplomacy.
