Great Power Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era and the Culture of Five Relationships

习近平总书记阐述的新时代中国特色大国外交,以世界胸怀、全人类的视野,秉承中华民族优秀传统文化"天下一家"、"世界大同"的底蕴,从历史、现实和未来的客观判断中,提出和平发展、推动构建人类命运共同体的目标,本着"厚德载物"核心理念,创造性转化"和实生物"、"和为贵"、"和而不同"、"和合共生"、"天下为公"和"天下太平"等文化基因,创新性提出"和平、发展、合作、共赢"和"亲、诚、惠、容"等外交理念和方略。五缘文化是中华民族群体本位、伦理中心理念的外化,是华族社会结构、人际网络的历史发展,是中华民族凝聚力实现的一种形式。扩而大之,善用五缘文化,发挥其纽带和桥梁作用,在建设"一带一路"、构建人类命运共同体中也可以成为沟通人心,凝聚和团结各国人民的一种形式。

The concept of the great power diplomacy with Chinese characteristics for a new era elaborated by Xi Jinping,proposes the goals of peaceful development and promotion of building a community of common destiny for human beings based on the objective judgments of history,reality and future,with a cosmopolitan mind and a perspective of humanity,and by embodying the connotations of“all under heaven are one family”and“a great harmony of the world”in the excellent traditional culture of Chinese ethnicities.It is in line with the core concept of“self-perfection for social commitment”,creatively transforming the cultural genes such as“reconciliation does give birth to life”,“harmony is fundamental”,“harmony doesn't mean sameness”,“the world strives for the common good”,and“the world should be peaceful”,innovatively putting forward diplomatic ideas and diplomatic strategies such as“peace,development,cooperation,and win-win”and“benignity,sincerity,grace,tolerance”.The culture of the“five relationships”(kinship,geographical relationship,religious relationship,business relationship,and substance relationship)is the externalization of the group standard and the ethical center concept of Chinese ethnicities,a historical development of the Chinese social structure and interpersonal network,and a form of realization of the cohesion of Chinese ethnicities.By extension,making good use of the culture of the five relationships and exerting its role as a nucleus and a bridge,it can also become a form for communication,agglomeration and union of the people of all countries in the course of building“One Belt and One Road”and building a community of common destiny for human beings.
