How to Foster an Online Environment for Learning English Language?

在网络环境下,利用现代教育技术来创设英语学习情境,能让学生有多种机会在不同的情境中去感知、体验和运用他们所学的知识,然后根据自身行为的反馈信息形成对客观事物的认识,提高他们解决实际问题的能力。本文论述了在网络环境下贯彻以学生为中心的原则,利用网络特征创设英语学习情境,帮助学习者达到知识意义建构的目的。网络英语学习氛围、质量监控和完善的学习支持服务是网络英语学习环境不可缺少的重要内容。

With the creation of an online environment for learning English language using modern education technolo-gies,students can have a wide range of opportunities to perceive and experience English in different learning contexts and hence apply their knowledge of the language in various situations.The competencies of distance learners in solving real-life problems can be enhanced if students can form their own understanding of objec-tive truths based on feedback on their own learning behaviors.This paper discusses the application of student-centered principles in the construction of an English learning online environment.In this manner,students can actively construct their own knowledge.The following issues regarding an online environment for English lan-guage learning are also examined in this paper:the cultivation of an English-learning atmosphere;the control and assurance of quality;and learning support services.
