国立武汉大学前期三位校长办学理念的考察

On the Educational Philosophies of Three Former Presidents of Wuhan University

在中华民国大学院决定建立国立武汉大学以后,刘树杞、王世杰、王星拱三位校长为了建立一所心目中的理想大学,都提出了自己的办学理念。刘树杞认为,一所国立大学应该成为国家和民族文化传承的中心,同时大学还应该十分重视科学教育;王世杰认为,大学应该传播高深的知识和研究深邃的学术,同时还应该把高尚人格的训练作为教育努力的目标;王星拱认为,大学承担着道德、知识和技能三大教育任务,为此大学培养出来的学生应当成为国民的表率、探究高深的理论、研究推进社会进步的事业。他们的这些理念至今都还闪烁着时代的光芒。

In order to build an ideal university,president Liu Shuqi,Wang Shijie and Wang Xinggong proposed their own ideas of running a school when the Grant Institution of the National Government decided to establish National Wuhan University. Liu Shuqi suggested that national university should be the center of cultural heritage of a country,also it should attach importance to science education. Wang Shijie proposed that transmitting profound knowledge and improving academic level was the main job of a university and its educational goal should be raising noble personality. While Wang Xinggong held that morality,knowledge and skill are the three educational tasks of a university,for which it should take the lead for the nation,explore profound theories and do research for social progress. And their ideas are still glittering today.
