A unique production of a unique opera:Pina Bausch's "Dance-Opera" Iphigenia in Tauris

严格而言,今年香港艺术节的制作,只有一部歌剧,也就是远自北欧请来的芬兰萨翁林纳歌剧节(Savonlinna Opera Festival),带来的瓦格纳歌剧《罗恩格林》(Lohengrin)。

Strictly speaking.the 42nd Hong Kong Arts Festival presented only one fullystage opera—Savonlinna Opera Festival's Lohengrin.In fact,there were two others:Jeffrey Ching's Before Brabant and Christoph Willibald Glucks Iphigenia in Tauris.Before Brabant was presented only inconcert version.Iphigenia in Tauris was a 'Dance-Opera' produced by Pina Bausch's Tanztheater Wuppertal,which was first presented in this production in 1974.
