修辞理论应立足于动态的话语交际活动而构建。修辞是言语交际活动中的话语控效行为,即发话人有效调控言语交际的进程和交际的参与因素,运用最具针对性的话语策略,最大限度地促使发话人所期望的话语效果的成功实现。修辞学是语言运用领域一门具有鲜明目的趋向性的话语控效科学,修辞性是话语活动的本质属性。

Based on the perspective of linguistic communication, the author purports to establish a new rhetoric theory. He contends that rhetoric is the effectcreating factors in linguistic communication, that is, the addresser modulates effectively the process of linguistic communication and successfully achieves the expected discourse effect to the utmost degree by using the most effective discourse strategies. Moreover, the author also discusses the object of rhetoric, the process and principles of rhetoric modulating as well as the nature of rhetoric.
