“人文”与“天文”相对应 ,其基本蕴涵是“文明以止” ;“人文主义”与“神学”相对应 ,其基本蕴涵为人取代神居于世界和价值的中心 ,高扬人的理性、自由、价值和尊严 ;作为“人文”与“人文主义”之价值依托的“人文精神” ,它从人与自身、人与社会和人与自然三个向度追问真善美的高度和谐统一 。

Human culture is in contrast with astronomy, which signifies cultural cultivation while humanism is correspondent to theology, which indicates human being should be centered instead of god. As the basis of human culture and humanism, humanistic spirit covers the relationship among human being, society and nature, searches for a harmonious unity, which, moreover, varies with times due to its critical and surpassing qualities.
