基督教文化与中国现代文学的关系是一个十分重要的文化和文学现象。对这一现象的研究始于20世纪40年代,朱维之的《基督教与文学》是这一领域的开山之作。而美国学者罗宾逊的《两刃之剑》,则是该课题的奠基之著。进入90年代,国内先后出版了《十字架下的徘徊》、《中国现代作家的宗教文化情结》、《旷野的呼声》和《20世纪中国文学与基督教文化》等四部重要专著,打破了这一课题研究中的长久寂寞。这些研究或将宏观视角和微观分析相结合,或从宗教文化角度观照中国现代作家的宗教文化情结,或以自己的研究填补现代文学史领域的某些空白,或进一步拓展该课题的广度与深度,形成了在文化传布和影响下的深入探索。但更为宏观和理论化的研究、文学本体的研究和与同类现象的国别比较研究等,仍是该课题所需要的。

The relationship between Christian culture and modern Chinese literature is a very important cultural and literary phenomenon. The study of this phenomenon began with the publication of Christianity and Literature by Zhu Weizhi in the 1940s, while the foundation of the study was laid by Louis Robinson's Double-edged Sword published in 1986. In the 1990s, four important works on the subject were published in China, revealing the process and function of the spread and interaction of different cultures.
