随着开行于各港口城市的轮船出现,中国传统的邮政传递体系产生了变革。也促使鸦片战争后出现的不同邮政机构建立,以及开办现代国家邮政体系。随之而来的新邮政体系创设,都首先设立与上海、天津、广州等国内大型沿海港口城市,再者开设于国内其它沿海、沿江港口城市,再逐渐向纵深和内陆城市发展。因此,中国邮政体系的发展和变革,是从港口城市首先起步的。而港口城市,也影响中国邮政体系的建立、发展和变革。

With the development of the ship in the port city, the traditional postal delivery system has been changing.
