The Historical Investigation into the Important Ports in Hainan which Connect the Islands in the South China Sea

海南岛联结南海诸岛的重要海港主要分布在海南岛的东部,文昌的清澜港在古代和南海诸岛的联系最为密切。现在与南海诸岛联系最为密切的琼海潭门港,明末清初才兴起,晚于清澜港。陵水县的一些港口也和南海诸岛有联系。三亚早期的港口在西部,清末东部的三亚港、榆林港才兴起。

Important seaports in Hainan island which connecting the islands in the South China Sea were mainly located in the east of the Hainan island, and the Qinglan oort in Wenchang was most closely linked to the South China Sea islands in ancient times. The Tanmen port in Qionghai, which is the modern port most closely linked to the South China Sea islands, was established in the late Ming and Qing Dynasties, later than the established of Qinglan port. Several ports in Lingshui county were also linked to the South China Sea islands. The early ports of Sanya were established in the west, the Sanya and Yulin port from east were rose until the late Qing Dynasty.
