This paper investigates several factors that may cause catastrophic accidentsaccording to the typical measured P-t curves of a breechblow catastrophe and providessome methods to examine the firing security of propelling charge before actual firing inthe gun,in the view of the suitability of ignition and propelling charge and engraving(IPCE).
