EU's Decision-making Mechanism and European Integration

欧洲联盟是部分欧洲国家为了实现经济一体化,进而达到一定程度的军事与政治一体化,基于国际条约而建立的区域性国际组织。在欧洲一体化进程中,充满创意的决策机制,对整合众多主权国家的意志和利益、制定一体化政策、化解成员国之间的矛盾,发挥了举足轻重的作用。但多元分散的决策制度也存在着决策效率低下、民主赤字等问题。研究欧盟决策机制,有助于我们了解欧洲一体化的历史进程和未来走向。

EU is a regional organization set up according to international treaties by some European countries striving for economic and, consequently, military/political integration. In the process of European integration, the innovative decision-making mechanism of EU plays an important role in integrating the wills and interests of countries concerned, making policies for integration, and resolving conflicts among EU member states. However, EU's multinational and decentralized decision-making system suffers from problems like inefficiency and lack of democracy. Research on EU's decision-making mechanism will enable us to better understand the history and trend of European integration. 
