理红妆"和其中的"理"宜作何解

How to Understand"Li Hongzhuang",the Chinese Characters in the Poem Called Hua Mulan

《木兰诗》中"当户理红妆"中的"理红妆",凡有注的文学作品选、诗选均注为"梳妆(洗)打扮"。有关古汉语的字、词典和具有一定工具性的词汇学专著,凡以"当户理红妆"作为书证的,均谓这里用的是"理"字所具有的"整理"这一义项。这种解释虽较"梳妆(洗)打扮"好些,但仍不能视作的解。只有将"理"字注解为准备方是确诂。

Li Hongzhuang', a Chinese phrase in the poem called Hua Mulan,is defined as 'wash and dress oneself up'according to the explanation appearing in the literary works or the selected poems. Some dictionaries of archaic Chinese and some works on lexicology of the Chinese language say that one of the meanings of the Chinese character 'Li'is 'arrange or put......in order'. And in the meanwhile, the phrase 'Li Hongzhuang'is regarded as a good example of this in these books. This explanation is much better,but the best understanding of the character Li in 'Li' Hongzhuang should be 'prepare'.
