“不招不嫁”:大理白族现代婚俗现象研究

Neither Virilocal Nor Uxorilocal Marriage:A Study on the Modern Marriage Custom of Bai People in Dali Area

以云南大理白族地区的婚俗变迁为切入点,探讨在生计方式、婚姻家庭观念急剧变迁的现代化背景下"不招不嫁"婚俗如何应运而生。从婚礼仪式开始一直到婚后孩子的姓氏选择,"不招不嫁"婚俗都力图寻找传统与现代、男方与女方之间的平衡。这一现代婚俗不仅以变通的形式解决了居住方式、家庭继嗣、父母养老等问题,同时也在一定程度上改变了婚姻中女性完全从属于夫家的传统。

Focusing on the change of marriage custom of Bai people in Dali area of Yunnan Province,this paper explores how the custom of ' neither virilocal nor uxorilocal marriage' came into being under the background of the rapid change in living style and concepts of marriage and family.From the beginning of the wedding ceremony to the choice of children’s surnames after marriage,the custom of 'neither virilocal nor uxorilocal marriage' indicates an attempt to balance between tradition and modernity,as well as between men and women.This modern marriage custom not only solves the problems of the way of residence,family heirs and pension providing to parents in a flexible way,but also changes to a certain extent the tradition that women are totally subordinate to their husband’s family in marriage.
