On the Motivation of Linguistic Sign

语言符号的理据性是语言的客观存在,它是诠释语言形式意义的重要工具。从语言符号的不同层面以及符号与符号、符号与客体的相互关系的视角来看,语言符号有五类理据:语音理据;形态理据;逻辑理据;语义理据;熟语理据。语言符号的任意性和理据性是相互依存的关系,既有区别又有联系,它们都是语言符号的本质属性。

The motivation of linguistic sign is an objective existence of language .It is an important tool to explain the senses of linguistic form. From various levels of language, the relation between sign and sign and the relation between sign and object, the paper mainly discusses five categories of motivations: phonetic motivation, morphological motivation, logic motivation, idiomatic motivation, semantic motivation. It concludes: there is a relation of mutual existence between arbitrariness and motivation. On the one hand, they are different, on the other hand they are connected .They are both the essence of the properties of language.
