Lightweight and low smoke communication cable with XLPE thin-wall insulation is mainly used for signal transmission between various instruments,meters and electronics on ships,offshore oil platforms and so on.The structure design,material selection,process measures,and trial production of this kind of cables are introduced in detail.Compared with common ship communication cables the weight of this cable is reduced by about 35%,the diameter is reduced by about 18%.The long-term operation temperature is up to 105 ℃,and it features low smoke,low toxicity and flame resistant.
