Cultural Writing and Historical Memory:The Art of "Embroidery Story Cloth" By Hmong People

Hmong人是一个源自中国苗族的东南亚族群,因越南战争成为难民移居美国。由于经济的客观原因和情感表达的主观需求,Hmong人于难民营发明了书写其文化的'刺绣故事布',在民族工艺生产与商品化中建立了自己不可替代的主体性。它将抽象的传统苗族刺绣进行具象化,记录了Hmong人迁徙历史、传说故事和生活礼仪。

Hmong is a group of Southeast Asian ethnic groups from the Miao Nationality in China,who had become refugees and emigrated to the United States because of the war.For economic reasons and emotional needs,the Hmong people invented the'Embroidery Story Cloth'in the refugee camp to write their culture.We should establish our irreplaceable subjectivity in the production and commercialization of ethnic crafts.It symbolizes the traditional embroidery and records the migration history,legends and etiquette of the Hmong people.It is not only the diversified expression of embroidery,but also an innovative form of Miao cultural inheritance.
